8 Ways to Spice Up Your Bedroom - +DIY's!


This is a collected list of some thing you can buy or even DIY to achieve some difference to your bedroom without getting seriously upset over your bank statement.



  1. Lamps!
    Adding a cute lamp is one of the easiest ways to add height, light, and personality to your room.
    1. DIY Flower Shaded Lamp, 2. White Resin Lamp, 3. Polka-Dot Lamp

    Bonus! DIY:
    Flower Shaded Lamp: Cut off the stems of your some faux flowers (20-30), bought at any craft store, and arrange onto an old or plain lampshade. Superglue or staple the flowers to secure.
  • Ceiling Decor! Everybody knows about wall decor, but I believe ceiling decor can be just as beneficial to the overall feel of a room!
    1. DIY Pom-Poms, 2. Hanging Lanterns, 3. String LightsBonus! DIY:Hanging Pom-Poms: Fold a stack of colored tissue paper into a fan-shaped pattern. Secure middle with a rubber band. Trim edges to a round shape. Pull each layer upwards away from stack. Continue pulling until you achieve a round "pom-pom".
    OR
    pin pinched cupcake liners to a styrofoam ball.
  •  Rugs! Adding a rug is the easiest way to make a dramatic effect in your room. It's the first thing you see! It can add color, depth, and even mood.

    Bonus! DIY:
    Painted Rug: Take an old, plain rug and tape or stencil a design onto it. Using a paint roller, use the color of your choice of fabric pant to add on the design. Let dry.
  • Throw Pillows! These accents are not only cute, but they are extremely comfortable. With any pattern or color, it can easily be an additive to your room.

    Bonus! DIY:
    Sequin Pillow: With a plain pillow ($2 at Ikea) or a pillow insert, sew an old sequin dress or fabric to the surrounding of the pillow.

    with fabric adhesive, glue sequin to a plain pillow or pillow insert.


  • Wall Art! Add space to those empty walls! There is so many choices out there for wall art, its beyond amazing.

    Map Hearts Wall Art: Find old maps and cut into equal-sized hearts. Paste onto a canvas or white card stock. Frame.
  • Storage Containers! This is useful and decorative. Very good combination.

    Bonus! DIY:
    Pen Holder: Use empty paper towel rolls and fill into a shoe box. Glue is optional. Decorate with colorful card stock, stickers, etc. Fill with pens.

  • Candle Holders! Candles add such a pretty glow to a dark room. Their holders just add that much more.

    Hearts Candle Holder: Cut out a heart with card stock or printer paper. Tape back of heart and stick onto a mason jar. Make flat. Spray paint mason jar. Let dry. Embellish with studs and ribbon.


  • Shelves! Along with storage containers, these could not be better for the best of both worlds.

    Color Block Shelf: Taking a wooden box and paint the rim with a bright color. Drill a hole into the sides and tie in rope. Hang.
